The Story so Far

It started with an old, unloved farm, a dream and a yurt! Having spent many fulfilling years in private practice working in Ayurveda, Yoga and other holistic healing modalities, founder of The Wholebeing Project, Mairead Moodie, knew that the journey was greater than simply seeing a handful of clients in the hours she had spare from family life. Working & living beside the buildings & land acquired years earlier as part of their home, the call to share the space with like minded people and the community became more urgent. It is an ongoing labour of love and a heart-felt project, which we can’t wait to introduce you to.

Mairead Moodie, Founder & Director The Wholebeing Project

“The past few years, during & following the global pandemic, have opened so many people’s eyes, ears & hearts to the importance of mental health, looking after our physical bodies & taking care of one another as communities. In times of crisis we know that people revert to the simple practices in life and desire well-being, community and support over things which previously seemed important. ”

The Wholebeing CIC was set up to evolve Mairead’s existing private practice into a community-based centre for holistic services. It will provide East Lothian, and beyond, with a centre for healing, education & best practice in its field of holistic and alternative health care practice, allowing its clients to become far more self-directed in their health choices. We are particularly passionate about young people discovering self-directed health care practices from as young an age as possible. In this way, they learn self-wisdom, self-action and self-compassion early in life, which in turn has a knock on effect for all society and future generations.
